Former Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) coach Steve O’Rourke has been named the first ever Head Coach of expansion franchise PWHL Seattle.
O’Rourke spent three seasons, from 2006-09, as a Development Coach with OHA. After a few seasons as an assistant coach in the AHL with the Abbotsford Heat, he would return to OHA as Head Coach of their U15 Prep team during the 2012/13 season.
The Summerland, BC product would go on to spent the following three seasons in the WHL as an Assistant Coach with the Red Deer Rebels. He spent the following six WHL seasons with the Prince George Cougars, three as Associate Coach and three as Director of Player Development.
O’Rourke joined the Oshawa Generals as an Assistant Coach for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 season. He would take on the role of Head Coach of the OHL side this past season.
